Fudge

Please meet Fudge!
Fudge is 4 year old Shar Pei who was saved earlier this year from being euthanised at our vets.
Fudge had ongoing digestive issues causing chronic diarrhoea which her owner could sadly not cope with financially or physically anymore.
Shortly after arriving in her foster home fudge developed a pyometra, this was due to not be spayed previously. Sadly this also caused a serious strain on her kidneys and she was very very poorly. After emergency surgery to remove the pyometra and a long stay in intensive care to flush out her kidneys with fluids, Fudge made an amazing recovery.
Fudge does have stage 2 kidney disease which is managed with diet and will need 6 monthly monitoring at the vets.
For the last few months fudge has been recovering in her foster home and has been thriving, she is now ready to find that forever family.
Fudge is friendly girl once she knows you...but she can be very aloof with people she does not know, which is typical of the breed! You will need to have experience of Peis, or experience with dogs of a similar nature who do not appreciate overzealous and univited fuss. Once you win her trust, she is an affectionate girl, but you will need to understand that comes on her terms!

Fudge is:
✔️ neutered
✔️ vaccinated
✔️ flea and wormed
✔️ travels well in the car
✔️ completely housetrained
✔️ good with sensible, savvy children
✔️ good with other dogs
✔️ happy to be left at home for periods of time
❌ not good with cats
Fudge has met other dogs with overall disinterest! We would be happy to explore the option of her living with another dog, but the dog will need to be of a similar nature rather than a dog wanting to jump all over her and play! Or she can continue to live as the only dog in the home.
Fudge is in foster with children who are respectful of her space and character.
