Hi everyone!
My name is Harold and I am an approximately 10 year old Staffy cross who came to SEDR as an unclaimed stray.
I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and am currently in foster in Medway, Kent.
I am dog friendly but can be OTT with other dogs and as I am already unsteady on my legs..I am looking for a quiet dog free home.
I will whine and pull towards cats but have not shown any aggression…but I have not been fully cat tested.
I am an extremely friendly old chap who loves everyone he meets. I am on pain relief and joint supplements for arthritis in my back leg…I am definitely a ‘potterer’ and not a marathon walker!!
Here’s what my foster mum says about me!!
Harold loves his food & treats. He loves his toys and will destroy soft ones! He has hard chewing toys and a rubber ball…& likes a gentle game of tug.
His new home will have to have carpet or be prepared to have rugs everywhere as he will slip on lino / wooden floor.
He uses a step and my yoga mat to get up on sofa.
Harold loves snoozing either in the orthopaedic bed or on the sofa
He is house trained but can & does have accidents sometimes.
He does not go upstairs due to his legs and will sleep on the sofa at night
Harold loves his walks. A 5-10 min walk can take half hour as he likes sniffy walks!!
He will try to eat anything he sees on a walk, so I always need to look out for anything to avoid him eating it.
Harold loves a snuffle mat!
I use a high feeder for water & and food, which is good for him as he can be unsteady if he has to reach to the floor.

He is so good with people, kids & dogs. He doesn’t always know when to stop when greeting dogs so I've just kept the greets short. I think he would play with them if he could, but would probably fall over.
I've only heard him bark once at something in the garden, which may have been a cat, but I didn't see it. It may have the squirrel that comes to the garden.
He doesn’t bark at the doorbell but likes to come with me. I leave him behind a stair gate.
He greets me with a toy in his mouth when I come home & gets excited for his walk.
He would love to chase squirrels on walk if he could!
I sometimes have to go out in the garden with him last thing at night to make him go to the toilet.
In typical Staffy fashion… he likes to whine & ‘talk’ 😂
He is great in the car and a perfect patient at the vets.
He does not guard food or toys!
He takes initial bit of interest in my food but will go & lay down while I'm eating! He's always ready in case there are any leftovers….
Let's me pick him up.
He does follow me around downstairs.
I leave the radio on for him when I'm out.
He's a very chilled dog who likes to hang out & snuggle with you.
Basically, he's a perfect boy!!!
