Hi everyone!

My name is Milo and I am approximately 6 year old.   I have been neutered and microchipped. 

I came to SEDR as an unclaimed stray…nervous and quite underweight. 

As a stray I am looking for a very experienced person to help me to find my way.   I find lots of things scary at the moment. I am a sweet boy who loves to sit on your lap once I trust you, but I need time and patience to build my confidence.

I still have a lot to learn about everyday things that shouldn’t be scary, but are scary to me at this point in time. This includes things such as having a lead put on, walking in busy areas and over handling before I fully trust you. 

I will need a patient person who understands that I find things scary. For example, if you try to rush putting my lead on… I will run away and hide in the corner and will growl if you then try again.

If you gently coax me to come and sit with you and give me lots of reassurance, I will come to you and you can put my lead on without issues. So it’s all slowly slowly with me…and my new person must be ready for this. Rushing me will just send me backwards and I will become more fearful.

I enjoy walks in quiet areas and walk nicely on the lead. I will need gentle exposure to new things once I am settled in my new home.

I am wary of new dogs but have not shown any aggression. I would benefit hugely from living with one confident dog of a similar size. I do tend to ignore dogs once I’ve had a quick sniff…so a calm dog rather than an overly playful friend would be a good match. 

I will need a home without children due to my nervousness. 

I travel well in the car and know basic commands like sit, and do a perfect ‘paw’

I have not been cat tested, but we would be willing to explore a home with a very dog savvy cat if someone has experience of introducing them slowly and has ways to separate if needed during a settling in period. 

My ideal home will be just one or two adults who are experienced and patient. I would not cope with a busy household with lots of visitors. Ideally a home where someone has lots of time for me to sit on their lap and have cuddles! 

I will need a secure garden.
